My story
By profession I'm a Network Administrator at a multinational company. My day job is about systems that are logical and predictable — you trace a problem, follow the rules, and you get a clear answer. Every year, when it came to filing my income tax return, I expected the same clarity. Instead, I found a black box.
For the last several years I've filed my own returns. Along the way I kept running into the same frustrating question: what exactly do CAs and tax advocates add or claim when they prepare a computation? The numbers would appear, a refund would be promised, and most people I knew simply signed off without understanding a single line of it. That gap — between the taxpayer and their own tax — never sat well with me.
The more I looked, the more I realised how much misinformation and outright fraud thrives in that gap. Every filing season brings a fresh wave of scams: agents inflating deductions or exemptions the taxpayer never actually qualified for, fake "guaranteed refund" schemes, bogus rent receipts and donation claims, and middlemen who quietly pocket a cut of an over-claimed refund — leaving the honest taxpayer to face the notice, interest and penalty months later. People get lured in because they don't understand the computation, so they can't tell a legitimate deduction from a red flag.
So I built AJ-Tech. The idea is simple: if you can see how your tax is calculated, line by line, nobody can fool you.
